Uses
The tools behind the work.
People ask what I use. Here it is. Updated when something changes.
Hardware
- Laptop: Lenovo ThinkPad T450. Still runs everything I need. No reason to replace it.
- Phone: Android. Camera for site surveys, field documentation, and quick notes.
- Workshop tools: Leather skiving knives, bone folders, bookbinding presses, sewing frames. All manual. The craft work at Hibrkraft is done by hand.
Software
- Editor: VS Code with Claude Code extension.
- Terminal: Git Bash on Windows.
- AI: Claude (primary), ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity. I use all of them and document what works.
- Design: Figma for mockups. Canva for quick social assets.
- Writing: VS Code for long-form. Google Docs for collaboration. Google Play Books for publishing.
- Hosting: Rumahweb shared hosting, LiteSpeed server, cPanel.
Stack
- Site: Plain PHP includes. No framework. No SSG. SQLite for the post index.
- CSS: Single stylesheet, custom design tokens, no preprocessor.
- Charts: Chart.js v4 for data visualizations. Mermaid v11 for architecture diagrams.
- Fonts: Inter (headings), system stack (body).
- Deploy: Upload via cPanel File Manager or SFTP. No CI/CD. No build step.
Field work
- Site surveys: Measuring tape, camera, notebook. The basics.
- Pump engineering: ALBIN pump specs, AutoCAD drawings from principals, custom fabrication drawings.
- Book conservation: Japanese tissue, wheat starch paste, linen thread, archival-grade adhesives. The materials matter more than the tools.
